Summer WordPress Cleanup Checklist

In this post, we cover a 10-part WordPress cleanup checklist that you should be doing periodically with your WordPress site.

I found a great article over at iThemes about WordPress cleanup and maintenance. In essence, you need to:

  • Check your backups
  • Cleanup your email lists
  • Do a security audit
  • Lock down unused areas of your website
  • Optimize your post and page content (broken links, etc.)
  • Check in on your social media accounts
  • Check your site’s speed and make sure it’s loading fast
  • Update your portfolio or about page
  • Check your WordPress theme, plugin, and version updates
